Here's a few eco-lovely ideas for your next event:

Venue:
Holding the wedding ceremony and reception at the same location saves fuel because cars don't have to drive to different venues.

Photography:
Ask your photographer not to use film, which is harmful to the environment.
View your photos online (usually done anyway).

Flowers:
Use local, organic flowers if possible.
Use organic or fair trade certified flowers (ask your florist).
Recycle your flowers after the wedding by giving them to a hospital or nursing home, spreading the joy.

Stationery:
Use stationery made with 100% post consumer waste.
Use cotton paper, which is made from remnants of the garment industry.
Use less paper - skip RSVP cards and maps in invitations, opt instead for a one-piece invite with a phone number to RSVP.

Menu:
Ask your caterer to create a Manitoba-grown Menu, using in-season ingredients.
Ask or organic ingredients whenever possible.
